Casa Ixchel in Mérida, a colonial-style property with Mexican décor, is a beautiful home ideal for couples or families. Located close to the city center, it accommodates up to 7 guests.
Upon entering, you are welcomed by a charming foyer with a sofa and a hammock-style recliner, illuminated by an elegant hanging lamp and featuring a stone wall that adds a rustic touch. On one side, a beautiful wooden door leads to the main bedroom, while another door at the back opens to a small interior garden, connecting to a spacious living room with two sofas and a coffee table made from an impressive wooden log. Further ahead, you'll find the dining room and a fully equipped kitchen with a counter, stove, gas, large refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, knives, and all necessary utensils.
From the kitchen, you have access to a beautiful pool lined with Venetian mosaic, surrounded by a small garden. Here, you can relax at a table with an umbrella and chairs, or on the two sofas with a side table, perfect for cooling off from the warm Yucatecan weather.
Casa Ixchel Bedrooms
The house features two bedrooms and a small alcove.
The main bedroom, located next to the foyer, is very spacious and has its own full bathroom, along with a large wooden closet. It is decorated with soft pillows and an original tile floor with a beautiful pattern. Two large wooden doors, which also serve as windows, allow natural ventilation and offer a charming view of the interior garden.
The other two rooms are on the second floor, accessible via stairs in the living room. The first is a small alcove but has a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. It is equipped with a traditional hammock and a sofa bed, perfect for relaxing.
The second bedroom has two beds with white sheets and beautiful pillows embroidered with Mexican details, along with a large closet. From here, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the dome of the Lourdes Church, located a block away.
Both rooms share a full bathroom, which includes hot and cold water, a toilet, and a shower.
Location
Casa Ixchel is located in a quiet neighborhood in the heart of Mérida, on 36th Street, between 65 and 65A Streets. Just steps away is the charming Lourdes Parish, and there is a convenience store near the property. Its location is ideal, just a 10-minute walk from the Mérida City Museum and about 15 minutes from Casa Montejo and the main square.
Although it’s in the city center, the area is very peaceful, with little noise and low to moderate traffic during peak hours. Additionally, it offers easy access to the city’s beltway, making it convenient to visit archaeological sites like Chichén Itzá and Uxmal, as well as popular beaches such as Progreso, Telchac, and Río Lagartos.
