An old hacienda from the 18th century today converted into a beautiful tourist parador, respecting of course the original architecture, this is hacienda Ochil. Located on the outskirts of the municipality of Abalá very close to the road to Uxmal, it is a good option to start the journey towards the Puuc route.

In this hacienda you can learn about the life of that century because its walls contain a lot of history and at the same time observe original elements that have remained on the site since its construction. In the main house is the restaurant where you can taste the best typical dishes of the state, prepared by the inhabitants of the municipality, a small handicraft shop and the museum that contains objects dating from the same century as the structure and that were part of the daily life of its inhabitants as well as the vestiges of the henequen machines and some passages of the life of the ancestors portrayed in photographs and plans.

In what once lived the family butler has now become a bar where you can savor a delicious drink while having a good time in the company of friends. The toilets are located in what once served as a station to take the truck, an old transport used to move henequen from one machine to another.

In the southern part of the hacienda and almost at the same distance from the main house there is a cenote in which, very carefully, the inhabitants can submerge themselves and enjoy its clear waters. And to finish and make the visit even more memorable, you can see some archaeological remains found inside the property, among which there are some sculpted in stone.
