Among the most beautiful sites in Yucatan are the Haciendas, which were the residences of those owners of the henequen processing factories, many of which today have been restored to provide lodging, restaurant and event services, such is the case of Hacienda Teya. Founded in 1683 by the wife of the Count of Miraflores, Mrs. Ildefonsa Bermejo, during colonial times, its activities were primarily livestock and agricultural, but later in the 19th century it was dedicated to henequen work, however later it was abandoned.

It was until 1974 when Don Jorge Cárdenas acquired and rebuilt it, turning it into what it is today, adding the two rooms for events that have witnessed hundreds of important moments in the lives of so many people, since weddings and others are celebrated here. meetings.

What used to be a dungeon has now been transformed into a cellar in which wines and spirits, national and international, are aged; photographs illustrating colonial Mérida as well as others showing what the hacienda looked like when it had just been built are exhibited in the lobby area.

It has a restaurant that serves a variety of dishes typical of the region, with the authentic Yucatecan seasoning as they are prepared by local people. For wedding celebrations it offers a chapel and large gardens, but also accommodation services for a weekend of total relaxation, away from the noise of the big city.
