This Park, traditionally known by the townspeople as “The Canons”, belong to the “El Gallito” (the little rooster) bariio it exhibits some of the artillery used in battle in the last century, as well as a great arch, characteristic of Izamal.
Standing in the park is an old chapel by the name of La Santa Cruz, as it was dedicated to her followers, although there is no accurate information about its date of construction. The chapel is a small masonry with a trick rolled roof in the form of a barrel vault; the upper part of the main room, in the same way as the vestry, is topped by a simple bell tower.
Up until a few years ago, the townspeople used this space for celebrating the festivities of May, one of the most outstanding of the traditional barrios of this city.
