In the year 1883, the train station was built in the city of Izamal to receive those from Mérida, this was part of the United Railways of Yucatan, which began its work in the state at the beginning of the 20th century.
This was at that time the most used means of transportation by the inhabitants who needed to move from one city to another quickly, which is why it was very crowded, however with technological and transportation advances, little by little began to be displaced by buses.
Today you can visit this old station, although it is no longer in use, however it is, like many other structures, a great sample of the life of the Izamaleños in the Yucatán of yesteryear, is located on Calle 19, next to a hotel, in Izamal, there is also a park right in front.
