It is located 3 km from the archaeological zone of Chiche Itza, 35 minutes from the colonial city of Valladolid and only an hour and a half from Mérida, the white city.
Cenote de Ik Kil is a park surrounded by exotic plants and trees that is the perfect habitat for hundreds of wild birds, such as: toucans, parrots, cenzontles, cardinals, fly catchers, turquoise mot-mot, and several more.
The nights in Ik Kil are a mixture of sounds of frogs, crickets and monkeys, since it is surrounded by trees where small wild animals such as deer come and enjoy the natural beauty that this place has. All this happens while you enjoy the stars and relax in one of the luxurious palapas that has air conditioning and Jacuzzi.
The main attraction of Ik Kil is the Cenote, which on its surface is adorned with vegetation and in which you can see how deep it is. To get there you must go down stairs made of stone and where you will find small balconies so that you can admire its beauty from different points, upon arrival there is a platform that gives access to its fresh and crystalline waters where you can see its small catfish that live at. This place is ideal after you have visited the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza or Ek Balam, as you will find relief by cooling off in its fresh waters.
Visiting hours to the cenote are from 8:00 AM to 17:00 PM every day.
