The construction of the chapel can be dated between 1590 and 1600, its location within the Central Plaza suggests that this space, since pre-Hispanic times important ceremonies were carried out, which lasted until the time of the conquest with the Catolic religion; It is assumed that at that time Dzibilchaltún had a large population that justified the construction of the chapel.

In the front you can see the base that delimited its extension, an area that was covered by what was its nave, made of straw and wooden andirons. It still preserves painted stucco.

The remains of the parish house, which can be seen immediately to the north, housed the friars who came to officiate.
