Among the grand constructions erected on Paseo de Montejo, one stands out as the second most important in the City of Merida.
Known as Casa Peon de Regil, it was built by order of Pedro Regil, a wealthy and powerful landowner, in 1905. Located on 35th Street of Paseo de Montejo, with a neoclassical style and columns in various designs, its stone-carved facade makes this house one of the most visited. Due to its grand architecture, it is one of the city's greatest attractions.
At the time, it was the residence of the man who ordered its construction; however, today it houses the corporate offices of Inbursa.
