The Museum of the Mayan People, located in the archaeological zone of Dzibilchaltún, houses around 700 pieces that They show the life that the Mayan ancestors had, complementing the constructions found on the site.
This museum was reopened in 1994, however, Hurricane Isidoro and then Wilma damaged it so much that it was necessary to close access until it was repaired, so in 2012 it reopened its doors, preserving the original architectural work but adding improvements, such as the adjoining lot where a Typical Mayan House was built, using the techniques traditions of the ancient settlers.

The museum is classified into 4 rooms, in each of them with a specific theme, the first is the Pérgola de los Monolitos, where elements from Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo, complemented by a garden of native plants.

The second room refers to history, mentioning the archeology of Dzibilchaltún, as well as the conquest of the Mayans and the process of formation of the Yucatecan identity.

The third room is dedicated to pre-Hispanic Mayan archaeology, here you will find objects not only from Yucatan, but also from Chiapas and Campeche, ceramic objects and other more architectural ones that seek to illustrate from conception Maya of the universe, covering the origin of man, up to his social division, religion, his relationship with nature and of course the account of time, painting and writing are also mentioned, as well as the work done by them at that time.
